I know these aren't great at all, but is it okay for someone who hasn't studied for the DAT at all? Actually the only part I looked at was the PAT (I still have a little trouble on some of them). I'm planning on taking the real DAT June 8th and I'm unsure if I should reschedule it until July.

I took it once back in november 14, 2008...

Bio: 13
GC: 13
OC: 14
PAT: 14
RC: 14
QR: 13
TS: 13
AA: 13

And again on April 17, 2009...

Bio: 14
GC: 14
OC: 14
PAT: 18
RC: 19
QR: 13
TS: 14
AA: 15

The test booklet for both of the tests I took were the exact same questions. I also heard that KAPLAN tends to make their practice tests a lot harder than the actual DAT just to enroll students into their program.

I ve been doing the kaplan online stuff but didnt do the practice exams yet. I will do them a week before my exam which is next week. I would say study harder since you didnt improve much from the previous scores.

study a bit harder and good luck to you.I've taken kaplan practice tests, they are harder than the real thing.

I took the Kaplan Test for practice earlier this month and got:

Bio: 17
GC: 15
OC: 16
PAT: 19
RC: 21
QR: 15
TS: 16
AA: 17

I didn't really study that much, I was just trying to gauge where I really need to focus my studying. (Gchem and QR especially!)😱

I take the DAT for real May 23! I've also heard Kaplan tries to make the practice test tough to get people to enroll. No matter how I did on it, I wasn't about to pay $1400 for a class! 😱

Just use it as a starting point. Obviously you'll need to bring scores up throughout on the real deal, but it seems like a good beginning. From people I've talked to, an AA of around 15 on Kaplan's test seems to be average.

IMO, you still have plenty of time to study and go into the DAT well-prepared. However, from everything I've seen on here and learned from talking to other people...if you don't feel prepared, re-schedule it! It just has to be re-scheduled at least 2 business days prior to the date you're taking it. It's such a small price to pay for more review if you need it and definitely better than taking it and bombing!

Good luck!!

Who cares? Just practice tests.
It means little. You are missing a lot of questions though.
I think I scored around 14s on Bio when I never studied for it (and didnt take second half of bio). Maybe a bit higher for gchem and ochem.

It all really depends on whether you forgot the material but still understand it or if you just don't understand it.

I scored a 17 and an 18 on the two diagnostic tests I took from Kaplan. Since then I've started doing kaplan flash cards and reading the white book, but I took a topscore test (GC 19, OC 21, Bio 18) and didn't really bring up my scores very much. Granted I haven't started studying really really hard yet, but it's not as easy to bring up your scores as you might think. Bio especially is such a broad topic that I believe it is going to take me up until test time (3 weeks) to really improve much.

With diagnostics you can't just look at the scores. How many did you guess and get right? how many would you have known had you even done a little studying before hand? and also how many questions were over a topic you just didn't take? If you missed those, i wouldn't worry as much, but if you miss questions about stuff that you have seen often, you might need to worry.

for example on my kaplan diagnostic, I got a 17 in bio, and was very disappointed because I'm a bio major. Then I looked at the questions I got wrong, and with 2 exceptions they were anatomy and physiology questions...and I haven't taken either of those subjects. The questions about micro, molgen, and biochem I got mostly correct. Needless to say, I know where to focus on
