Is it just me or is kaplans psych section incredibly difficult. I know Kaplan is supposed ot be on the the harder side but i find their psych section nearly impossible at some points. I keep scoring sub 122-125 on their psych section.

I've actually been doing quite well on the Kap psych sections, and the psych in general. Scoring 127-129, which is great because I'm bombing the phys/chem.

What do you think it is that's giving you problems?

Is it the freestanding type questions that are giving you problems or is it drawing conclusions from the passage?

A bit of everything to be honest I just fail to see answers that stand out as in "yup, this is the right one" I feel like I guess majority of the time. I guess I need to review my psych and go over some khan.

Yeah, definitely watch the Khan vids. There was a girl in my class who struggled with that section because she just kept getting all of the definitions mixed up/had a tough time differentiating between them. Khan vids and passages are best for that.

out of curiosity did you ever take a psych or sociology course?

I found the Khan videos very helpful. My big problem with psych was memorizing a definition, but then trying to translate that definition into a real world example. For example in humanistic theory I put everything in terms of how I might interact with my patients and how patient-centered care would differ from treating them as non-normal. This leads thinking about a patient's self-esteem, self-efficacy... you see where this is going. Once I shifted my studying to learning real life examples of each concept, I retain the info much better and am scoring ~ 82% on my quizzes.

^this. Also, I think this method applies to literally all of the science sections. My scores are improving by doing Khan passages for practice with reference book if I need it, and then reviewing the hell out of practice tests. Just way too much info to read and practice later, in my opinion
