So, I have started doing blocks of 20-40 timed, all subj/topic questions for kaplan...I am afraid to say that I am still scoring around a 50%. We only have about 3 months until school is out and then we get a month of for step 1. Can anyone suggest what I can do increase my score? I am concerned that I won't have enough time to prep for step 1 after school is over if I keep scoring so low...

I had a question about people who go through QBank (or UWorld) and then redo their missed questions. When you choose the option to make a 48-question block out of used/missed questions, are the answer choices back to their default setting (all answers are in black) or when you arrive at a question does it actually show you what you chose the 1st time (red colored) and what the correct answer is (green colored). Thanks!

[The above "colors" that I included refer to QBank]

thanks for the reply. I am only concerned because most of those time I will be busy with school. We really get about a month to study for boards.

To elixir: I already do my questions with incorrect questions included and I have never seen kaplan flagging your old incorrect questions for the next time around.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm glad to know they don't flag my old answers if I choose to redo them. Do you (or anyone else) have any idea if that's the same situation for UWorld? Thanks!

Is there any correlation to what questions you are missing? You should be able to get some idea of where you are weak. Just build in those areas and you should be fine. 50% this far out is not bad at all. You've got a good base to build on, and that's all you need.

after completing a block i did a 48 question test, tutor mode because i wanted to read the answers as I went. I got 40 right out of 48. I got a few of them right through reasoning and after reading the answer had a better understanding of it. Wondering if this is good or not? the op mentioned 50% right timed. wondering how much of a difference this makes in percentage correct? i took about 1 minute to answer the question and probably a good 5 minutes annotating/rereading the answers.

This was my first time doing kaplan questions. I did not think they were hard, but I am not sure how much of this I will remember 1 month from now when i start studying for the boards.

i forgot all of anatomy, including the saphenous vein! i forgot there was a greater/lesser vein. this should be an interesting few months.

If you are scoring 83% of your questions correctly right now, that is really ****ing good. You want to be at 70-80% by the time you take the test, so if you are scoring that right now, more props to you. I do questions in regards to the subject we are studying (ie. i'll do micro/path for Cardio to prepare for our upcoming test) and even then I usually only score 60-70%.
