Has anyone taken the Kaplan self-assessments that come with the qbank?

Are they worthwhile, as compared to doing additional blocks of incorrect questions from either UWorld or Kaplan?

i took two diagnostic tests (im guessing thats what ur referring to). They were alot like their q bank questions. in fact, my score on one of the diagnostic tests was exactly the same as my qbank score at the time. i haven't taken the usmle yet so i can't tell you if its reflective or not but it seems like most people think that their questions are not very usmle-like. you might wanna invest that time in doing usmlerx or uworld wrong answers or something along these lines.

Do all of the Kaplan stuff online = diagnostic test (150) + QBank (2200) + 2 full-length exams (644) = 2994 questions.

I thought the diagnostic was way harder (~72%) than the QBank (~81%) and full-length exams (~80/81%).

Just like with SAT prep, I think Kaplan purposely makes their diagnostics harder so that you have the illusion you've improved by the time you finish their product, when in actuality, you've remained fairly baseline the whole way.

Went for it today with self-assessment #1, no regrets. Actually thought it felt harder than the qbank while I was taking it, but I pulled and 80% which was roughly where my last 5-10 blocks were, so I guess that was all psych-out.

Like most of the Kaplan qbank itself, the questions were overwhelmingly more detail-oriented and calculation-intensive than UWorld, but I'm hoping that's the equivalent of a hitter picking up the extra bat for a few swings before stepping up. Or in other words, hopefully on test day I can grab an extra point or two from the esoterica that showed up in Kaplan but not UWorld.

I'll probably wait another 5-10 days before subjecting myself to such a grueling exercise again (the difference between 4-5 UWorld blocks in a day and a full-length 7-block Kaplan practice test is, at least in terms of the endurance required startlingly large), but if anyone was wondering, there are a number of good questions in there and I agree w Phloston that they're worth the time (especially considering that they come w the qbank).

Is there any correlation between the Kaplan simulation test and the three digit USMLE score ? I see on forums that people quote a 3 digit score but I only got a % and that too not too high 70% and I am only a few days from the exam . I am scoring in 240s in the last few NBMEs consistently .Feedback needed please .
