probably been asked before however greatly appreciated if someone knows the answer. I got a set of 2002 kaplan step 1 ones from a friend, and was going to buy the new ones from ebay till i saw that they are like 700 bucks. Does anyone know if there are any changes between these years and if so are they drastic enough to make me purchase the new editions. Any input would be sweet.

don't know how different they are but I do know a lot of people still use the 2002 versions and seem to do well with that. hopefully someone who's seen both can provide a definitive answer.

I had a similar question...I think mine are either the 2001 or the 2002 version that I bought for really cheap...but there are only 3 of the "big" spiral-bound books, and I thought it was a complete set. Do all the sets that you know of printed that far back have 7 books or so? (these books are huge, by the way). I'm confused...

I've seen the 2002 Kaplan Lecture Notes (the 7-volume set sold with their lecture courses), and a friend just gave me the 2004-2005 set. I've also been to the local Kaplan Center and seen the newest edition, and looked through them for about a half hour (they were trying to get me into one of their expensive courses).

They revamped the Immuno section SLIGHTLY in the 2004-2005 to include a vaccination chapter, and of course there are a few drug updates in the Pharm section. Other than that, I'd estimate that the 2002 notes have about 98% of what's in the newer editions. The diagrams look the same, and so do the end-of-chapter review questions.

I wouldn't spend the extra money of the newest set if you have the 2002 version.

Just my 2 cents...

Ebay.

Check starting on Friday night, and throughout the weekend, as Ebay pulls these auctions off on Mondays. Contact the sellers directly.

Hello... I'm so happy to have read that someone out there has the same problem as I have... because my sister applied for the step 1 kaplan reviewand has all their books (circa 2002) and take not... in perfect mint condition...so I'm a bit hesitant to buy another set...
