Kaplan Step 2 Videos. Usefull?

Does anyone know if the kaplan step two videos are useful for 2nd year shelf exams? And Just the year in general.

I don't know if the videos are helpful. USMLEWORLD for step 2 ck and first aid for step 2CS is usually enough.

Are you asking if Step 2 video reviews, designed to cover what Step 2 focuses on, would be useful for preparing for second year basic science shelf exams, which are designed to cover what Step 1 focuses on?

No, what I'm asking is if the STEP 2 vids are good for learning 3rd year material throughout the year. For instance their OB/GYN material is over 24hrs of material, so im hoping that will be a good thing to watch before the OB/GYN shelf and during the rotation.

Oh. You said "second year shelf exams."

I don't see why it wouldn't be, but there's no way I'd spend 24 hours watching a video review for Step 2. Seems to me that it'd be much more time-efficient to just use UW questions / the usual go-to books for OB/Gyn / etc.

6 vs. half-dozen, I guess. Using UW for shelf prep can only help come Step 2 time -- though I did "save" UW for Step 1. Not sure there's a substantial difference in doing that vs. not.

kaplan is godly. It gave me my 248 on Step 1 and a 252 on Step 2. You need a good 6-8 weeks to get it done, but they are awesome. They prepare you ungodly well for Step. They are broken down into the clerkships for you. Good for the shelf.

Also, dont use pirated materials. Its illegal.

Pay for Kaplan. They are worth literally every penny.

24 hr of video is like reading a review book. Actually maybe even faster to watch the videos if you are a slow reader. 1 hr a day of Kaplan video watching in a six week rotation is plenty. You would still have time to do tons of questions.
