Hello everyone!

I just bought my Kaplan PCAT Study Guide. I just decided randomly to take the quantitative ability test at the end of the book (practice test).

My score after 40 min. time limit: 21/48 questions.

I know this isnt how the PCAT is scored but I want to know how much I need to improve.

Roughly how many questions should I get right on these practice tests? Obviously 48/48 is my goal but it seems impossible with the limited time to get to all 48 questions. :[

Please share your experiences with the Kaplan Study guides and if possible the results of your PCAT scores. Thank you!

Just a warning, the real PCAT questions and the Kaplan book questions are pretty different- particularly the math section. The PCAT math test questions are WAY harder (I thought), chemistry was also a little bit more difficult, though english/bio were pretty comparable.

I have no idea how may you "should" be getting right, but from the book, at least 80-90% in the math section because of the disparity. During the test, I guessed on the last 7 or 8 questions because I ran out of time and I still did pretty well on that section. DONT freak out, just breath, learn your stuff, and keep going.

Same thing happened to me. 🙁 I thought I was going to get killed in that section, but it was not as bad as I thought.
