Okay fellow pre-dents,

my DAT is in a WEEK & i've been trying to do all the kaplan subject tests as much as possible.

well, i just got done with 3 of the o-chem subject tests & i am getting a lot of them wrong. i've been also doing DAT DESTROYER...and ochem portion from the destroyer is mostly "what is the product of this reaction" but on the other hand, kaplan is asking a lot of conceptual ochem questions.

pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee somebody tell me that kaplan's subject tests are harder than the actual DAT? how come i find that DAT DESTROYER is easier than these subject tests?

Hey I felt the same exact way about Kaplan subject test. If you haven't done GCHEM, trust me its the same thing. I would use these subject test to add knowledge to your subject rather than use it for diagnostic purposes. I think I missed an average or 7-8 per subject test and this is after having OCHEM fresh because I just took it this past quarter. So don't worry, keep doing problems over and over and pound home those concepts. Good luck and I'm sure you'll do fine. 🙂

The point isnt so that you can get the destroyer questions right, the point is to undwerstand why all of the wrong answers are wrong. Many of the questions are all of the above and the point isnt to just guess all of the above and woohoo i got it right, im a genius, that is counterproductive. You need to understand every answer. That should be enough to nail any Kaplan material.

Thanks guys. I am just feeling discouraged b/c I only have a week left & I thought I was "prepared".

Was wondering if these subjects tests are "good examples" of what DAT questions are really like...🙂

i felt the same way when i was doing the orgo..it made me realize that having good knowledge of all the reactions isn't everything

Kaplan subject tests are purposely hard, but good prep. They try to twist concepts etc in really weird ways, so don't worry if you don't score as high.
