Hi,

If anyone could chime in regarding the weekly/monthly reimbursement for teaching Kaplan/TPR MCAT classes I would appreciate it.

[There have been posts regarding hourly pay, but I'm more interested in how much you really make per week or month. e.g: Twenty dollars an hour is great but if you only work 3 hours a week you will net less than $60.00]

Thanks

This really depends on how many classes you teach at once. Each course is about 8 classes per subject (depending on subject) and should net you around $600. Then there are office hours / extra help sessions you can take advantage of for extra $. However, the classes can take up to a couple of months so $600 really isn't that much in that respect. The way to make money doing this is to teach multiple classes / subjects atleast a couple times a week.

By the way I work for TPR so not sure about how Kaplan compares

The pay is hourly and class lengths differ based on subject. (GRE/GMAT 2.5 hrs/Class, 8 classes) all the way to (LSAT Advanced 4 hrs/10 paid classes plus paid proctoring at a lower rate).

Right now I teach 19 hrs a week, at my hourly rate. Plus I get prep time. Tutoring is paid by the hour as well.

Some classes run 1 x week, some 4 x week. It all depends.
