I hate to beat a dead horse guys, but I am just looking for some advice on how to succeed throgh Kaplan Verbal Passages. I know that people on here say to disregard them in total that its a waste of time etc.., but I still really need the practice and want to succeed through all types of Verbal Reasoning.

The Kaplan Verbal strategy book has some good skills that could be utilized, but I find them hard to be incorporated into their Verbal Section Tests. I am trying to take all section tests before I begin their Full-Lengths and was looking for helpful advice on how you guys tackled their passages and what seemed to work for you all.

I just want to be able to score at least a 9 on the real MCAT and a 10 would be golden, I think right now, honestly I am at like a 6-7. What do you guys suggest?

Keep reviewing the tests and question stems, read more, keep practicing, etc..? Thanks.

I haven't taken the actual MCAT yet (May 2nd), but I am using the Kaplan VR Online Section Tests to get some practice. I will be switching to EK 101 VR after I do all 13 of Kaplan's VR section tests. As vague as this sounds, "actively reading" has helped me the most. When doing a passage, I scribble some idea down for each paragraph, then take a few seconds to think about the entire passage before I answer questions. Needing something to write down forces me to be more active in my reading. Kaplan's mapping strategy isn't for me. I have gone from barely getting a 6 to a solid 8 in 4 section tests and hope to keep improving.
