I didn't take any KAPLAN classes, but I have this "verbal reasoning strategy and practice" book from a friend. It has 11 tests, 40 Q each.

I found it really challenging and always ran out of time. I haven't started EK or AAMC yet, so have no idea how it is compared with other reading materials. I was wondering if anyone else has used this book?

Any inputs? Thanks!

Are you using the Kaplan strategy? Where you're mapping the passages? I highly recommend you NOT do that, it takes way too much time. You should take a look at the Examcrackers verbal strategy, it's much better and a lot more effective.

The general consensus around here is that EK 101 verbal passages most closely resemble the real MCAT.

I wasn't doing the kaplan mapping, seemed a waste of time (for me). I'll look into the EK strategy. Thanks for the comments!

As you said, do not use their strategy, but definitely take them as additional practice! Take it with a grain of salt though, as I have noticed a CLEAR difference b/w kaplan's testing style and AAMC's in terms of verbal.
