The curve for verbal sections for kaplan FLs is ridiculously easier than aamc...like with the same raw score, you would have a score 2 whole points higher than you would on an aamc exam. Why is that? I understand why this is so for the physical sciences, bc its so much harder, but kaplan verbal sections are not.
Have people who used primarily kaplan gotten screwed over on the actual mcat verbal? Their curve just doesn't make sense to me.

(Unless they know something I don't, and the curve on the mcat is actually much more generous than the aamc practice tests🙂 - I can still be hopeful right?)

If the Kaplan practice tests are curved easier, and you relied on them completely to determine how you'll do, and you were still getting a borderline score, then yeah, I'd say it would hurt. But, I think the real MCAT is curved easier then the AAMC practice tests, so hopefully it will just even out.

I found the AAMC tests (the few that I did) to actually be easier than Kaplan. Kaplan was more detailed based, where AAMC tests seemed more along the lines of understanding the main point questions.

Really? I've always found AAMC to be much harder than Kaplan, examcrackers, etc.
The fact that I stupidly mistimed on the real thing and had to guess on the last 1.5 passages didn't help much either...😳

Yeah, I did the same thing. On like 2 or three of the MCAT sections I was so ready to go that I forgot to set my watch!

ok, so 90% of your female premed friends were hot. so what happened to them? they're not hot anymore? hahah just kidding. but the real question is..are YOU hot?

for guys, it doesn't matter that much. men don't compare each other's looks. for men, all that matters is that they can talk well. a guy can be ugly, short, and very hairy but as long as he can talk very well, then it doesn't matter.

Use Kaplan tests for the practice, not for score predictions. Their scaling is highly inaccurate.

hahah, of course i know what forum i'm on. but it's not my fault i get distracted so easily by ppl's userpics.

i found that i got the exact same thing on kaplan and aamc practice test verbal sections but for some reason the last two times i took the mcat(i only took it twice), the verbal with the exception of like one passage is always easier than kaplan or anything ive ever taken however my scores never reflectthat....last time it dropped by one point but seemed so much easier i was certain i was getting a 13 or up. but i got so much less.
