Hey guys,
Until now I had been practicing for the verbal section through the TPR and EK books. I thought I'll give a look-see to the Kaplan book and I am really struggling through the passages for some reason. I find most of them of a rather high difficulty. Is it just me, or has anyone encountered the same problem? What do you suggest in this case?
Thanks,

Just work through it, practicing is the only way you're going to get better. I thought the kaplan passages weren't too bad initially, and that the EK was more difficult. However, lately after taking a few kaplan verbal sections online, I felt like kaplan was getting really hard. I was doing better on paper with the EK. I give myself more time with EK though, and with kaplan its already timed so that's probably why. Maybe doing some outside reading can be helpful, its definitely helped me out and made me feel more comfortable with verbal. I read the economist and new yorker online every now and then.

Kaplan is weak in verbal, so I wouldn't worry too much. There have been numerous threads on why Kaplan is bad in verbal, try a search for a more in-depth review. Anyway, if you have access to EK's 101 Verbal and TPR, stick to those. They're ranked higher than Kaplan.

Verbal:
EK > TPR > TBR > Kaplan
