I seem to be scoring consistently higher on Kaplan practice tests than Examkrackers (especially on the verbal section). Is either supposed to be more accurate of a diagnostic for the MCAT? Is Examkrackers supposed to be harder - at least on verbal - than Kaplan? Or is this likely just something to do with my own tendencies and abilities that's causing me to struggle more with Examkrackers?

Thanks in advance.

kaplan scores are hugely inflated.

ek verbal, if you are doing the 101, are accurate minus one. that is, take your EK101 score and add 1 to it.

i don't know anything else about EK other than the 101 verbal, but all kaplan scores, not just verbal, are somewhat inflated. this doesn't mean you'll do worse necessarily, getting 14 on a kaplan section could mean you are only an 11, or it could mean you are a 14 😉

Overall Kaplan #1-6 are better practice tests, though their scores are inflated. EK's practice tests are bad, very bad. Furthermore, Kaplan is notoriously bad in verbal, so don't pay much attention to that score.

They are Bad, real Bad, Michael Jackson. Lawlz 🙂

But yeah, I agree with what Sn2ed just said.

Kaplans tests are inflated (usually around 3-4 points), but they are still good practice tests. The physical science section on the Kaplan exams were actually even more accurate representations of the real mcat than the aamc practice exams in certain aspects (such as the density of the passages and amount of calculations needed to answer the questions) in my opinion.
