The answer is E, but I chose B. I'm not seeing where they are getting the front and end projections from at all. I even tried recreating this figure with putting 2 cell phones on top of each other....still not seein it lol.

Any ideas?

They're using the "right (end)" projection in the answer key.

Picture the object as its illustrated, on a table, with the front facing you. Rotate it clockwise 90 degrees so that you're looking dead on at it's right side. That is the projection, but in the answer it has been flipped on its side. They rotated it counter clockwise 90 degrees.

Also, B doesn't work because it's disproportionate. Notice that the corners of the rectangle on top hang over the sides of the lower rectangle in the middle of its sides, not at the edges as the keyhole shows.

I guess I can see where they are getting it from, but the proportions look deceiving to me. The block things don't look nearly as thick as they make them out to be. Oh well.

hahah i do the same thing....the first answer my eyes goes to, i know it's the wrong one because thats the one they put in to try and trick people >:|

I remember posting this question as well a while ago. In the end, I concluded it was really poorly scaled. I also chose B at first.
