I have a couple of questions about the KBB practice test that's in the back of the book. theyre all referring to the organic chemistry section (questions 70-100)
#92 i really do not understand how "E" could be the answer. the Carbon on the carboxylic acid group has 5 bonds, making it unstable and the oxygen has a negative charge even though it has a double bond to the carbon. Personally, i though letter "C" was the right answer.
#100 would the NO2 prefer to go to the 'p' position over the 'o' position? is there a reason why the 'o' position is the major product?
