Hi everyone,
i was just watching the news, and i heard horrible news. a commuter plane to Kirksville went down just 4 miles from the runway. 8 people died, and only 2 survived.
that is so scary...that could have been any of us... 🙁

I hope that no SDN'ers were on that plane. My prayers go out to those who were lost and their families 🙁

I too hope that no one from this forum was aboard that plane.

My prayers go out to all who are affected by this tragedy.

This is awful... man, life is so short 🙁

How awful. 🙁 🙁 My prayers go out to the families.

This post makes me feel awful. I pray that there were no KCOM interviewees on the plane. For those of us who recently interviewed there, it is particularly sad. My prayers are with the families as well.

Indeed, sad 🙁 and scary given that it could have been one of us on a plane. Of course that could be said of any of us going to any interview. It does hit close to home though.

MORE DETAILS

They don't interview on Wednesdays do they? So, maybe there were no interviewees on board. However, there could have been current students, faculty, or staff, or family members of one of these on board. Sad.

here are even more details

looks like there were no SDN's on the plane.
my prayers go out to families of the victims

wow 🙁 🙁

my condolences to the grieving families

such a sad, sad day ......

There aren't alot of details right now. The NTSB is here in kirksville and the airline won't release the names of the victims until they have contacted all of the family members. The President of the college said tonight that ATSU had eleven people on the plane. Three were coming for a lecture on compassion in medicine and the other eight were coming for a meeting with the second years about rotation sites. There were some Directors of medical education on that plane. Thankfully there were two survivors one of which was our DME from our Utah region. Very Very sad 🙁

One of the victims was a doc who was the local dean for Ohio U Com. I was devastated this morning when they told me she died. I just talked to her last week...

It's a huge loss.

This was pretty shocking and sad for all of us here at OU-COM. It's indeed a huge loss. I encourage all OU-COMers to attend the services when details become available.

DrMaryC, Shinken, and any others who know any of the victims of the airplane crash at Kirksville...I'm sorry for the loss. How sad... 🙁

*hugs*

Tomorrow in class, NSUCOM will be having a moment of silence for all those involved . Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

That's shows class.

My DME from Saginaw was on the plane & among the deceased. The KCOM family has been hit hard. The mood around my house has been rather glum. Ya know, I only knew Dr. Diffendorfer & had casually met Dr. Ator - but KCOM & Kirksville is truly like a family & this tragedy saddens me. My wife & I send out our thoughts & prayers to the families of the deceased & hope for a speedy recovery for the survivors.

In light of this, I came to a striking realization of just how personally & emotionally invested I have become in my alma mater, KCOM. I truly wish I could be there for my friends & those I don't know who are students there.
