KCU and Missouri Southern State University Partner to Provide “It’s Yours to Lose – Advanced Medical Acceptance Program”
http://www.kcumb.edu/about/news-events/news/?id=12884902492

I was perusing the KCU website when I came across this. So, do this mean that through partnership with MSSU, KCU will offer some sort of BS/DO degree program? I know the medical school at UMKC offers something along these lines.

Also, does it seem to be specifically geared towards the Joplin campus only?

I was wondering if anyone had any insight.

Essentially it's an agreement between MSSU and KCU Joplin to have their students train and hopefully remain there or in MO for residency/practice. So yes, it's to some degree a BS/DO linkage.

What's up with that program name? Sounds like something Dr Dubin made up haha.

The wording seems a bit aggressive.

I guess they were going for the "you have the pathway and it's yours to lose." Kind of like an assurance.

People make generalizations within seconds of reading a title and unfortunately they picked something that can have a negative twist to it.

Something like medical scholar pathway would have worked fine.

I think he said something like that about our seats in school at orientation. Did he say anything like that to you guys?

Dr. Dubin as in the guy who wrote the Rapid Interpretation EKG book? Didn't that guy spend time in jail on child porn charges?

No, two different guys. The Dubin we were talking about is the dean (edit: provost? I can't remember) of kcumb. No ekg book, no child pornography.

Dale Dubin M.D. and Bruce Dubin D.O. are different people. Dale is famous.
