KCUMB is a great school... I was born in Kansas City and lived there for 17 years. If you are looking for dinner suggestions, try Roco's on the plaza... you won't be dissapointed. But if you are looking for the student budget meal... go to Weinsteads... I worked there for a while... great ice cream drinks!

If it's the holiday inn at westport, take my word for it and go next door to the flea market place...they have a bar and food and the absolute best burger in KC. Or go further east on westport and go to the jerusalem cafe for mediterranean food or to Matsu for sushi. There's a steak place on the north side of the street on the corner of westport and pennsylvania. Go to Harpo's, on pennsylvania. If you get accepted to kcumb, you shall spend each and every tuesday night there as they have quarter draws.

I'll second the flea market burger! I had it when I interviewed. If you stay at the holiday inn you can have it brought to your room. Mine was so big it took three of those take out boxes to fit my burger and fries! 👍

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love where I'm at, but I bonded with a lot of ppl in KC and that helped make it awesome. It's a little different out there west of the mississippi.

I am unhappy that KCUMB can't manage to send me my secondary yet. They said it was sent a month a go... and now they are resending it. Every other school was able to copy my address properly. Well there loss.. cause already with 5 interviews, I don't think I will waste the money on suppl anymore.

heh... i jus drove by there, and a bunch of interviewees were outside in their suits/ties... hehe... remember interviewing?? i know i was nervious... but didnt have any reason to be... they were so nice and accomidating...

Yeah they came into opp lab today to. They were all dressed up and I was walking around with my scrub bottoms, an old T shirt, and the look of a sleep deprived med student.

"Old T shirt"? I was wondering how strict the dress code is, I've heard many different stories. Could you where a T shirt because it was opp lab or can you always where T shirts?

Most likely he was in opp lab. Gym clothes are what's worn. Then you get nekkid. 👍

Yeah you can wear t shirts and shorts to opp lab if you want. As far as class goes I see people wearing T shirts all the time. I usually wear a scrub top since I already have the pants on.

Officially the dress code is business casual -> business professional, or scrubs.

Basically if you wear a collared shirt and anything but jeans and you are set. OPP lab is pretty lax, officially, t-shirts and shorts or scrubs is the dress code with the women wearing sports bras underneath the t-shirt.

I, too, witnessed the first herd of interviewees today. A little advice for those of you guys who don't wear suits too often: it is proper to button the top button on your suit (or the top two if there are three buttons). If you are really uptight you can button all of them. When you sit down, unbutton your coat. But NEVER button just the bottom button. It looks really cheesy and you will stick out like a sore thumb. Just something I observed today.

That game on sunday was sweet! 😀 All though after hearing about that dude who killed his brother for rooting against the chiefs I'm a little apprehensive about going out and celebrating a chiefs loss.
