I'm sitting on acceptances to both KCUMB and Touro-NV, both deposits due in 2 weeks.

I'd love some help deciphering which school will allow me to be a better physician. I enjoyed both schools when interviewing. Which school will give me a better education both in the classroom and in rotations. Also, which will help me specialize outside primary care and get better residencies in California/West Coast.

I know Touro is ~10K more expensive in tuition per year and I am factoring that into the equation myself, so I'd love some insight of which is better pertaining to the actual school and education itself, thanks guys!

KCUMB will give you a better medical education and opportunities to specialize outside primary care, hands-down; part of Touro-NV's mission is to train PCPs for the state of Nevada. However, if you're set on a California/West Coast residency Touro-NV would be the better choice.

You'll become a great physician at either school.

The new curriculum at KCUMB is pretty awesome. It's a systems based track where we go over all the systems as normal function (anatomy, embryology, physiology, biochem) in year 1 and then year 2 you go over the systems again but in dysfunction (pathology, pharm). It's pretty rigorous but the new Dean here wants everyone to score high on the boards from now on.

Going to Touro-NV is a double edged sword. You will have a better chance matching in CA but probably less likely matching outside of primary care than if you wen to KCUMB.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input guys!

Also, there's a big difference in class size, approx 270 for KCUMB and 135 for Touro. Is this a significant aspect to factor in for medical school?
