Any insight as to which one would prepare a student better for the board exams? I believe the curriculum is very similar for both schools. Quality of professors? I've also heard that KCUMB does not focus on OMM as much?

In those aspects, I doubt there is much difference between them at all. OSU has like a total of 3 hours of OMM/week, don't know what KCUMB curriculum is like. I'm sure they both have excellent profs and a few that are so-so. If you're not an OK resident, tuition is a wash between them. After first semester at OSU, the curriculum is systems-based.
It's kind of more up to the student to do well on the steps.
