To those of you in dental school:

Do you suggest I keep my science texts from undergrad? I think I have my orgo, bio, gen chem, biochemistry, and physiology books all in my possession. I want to sell them, as long as I know I won't have some desire for them in d-school.

i doubt you'll need your chem and orgo texts, but definitely keep your biochem, physiology and any bio-related texts as they'll come in handy.

Don't bother... At UF I have found that our "bigs" (upper classmen) will give you too much old material. If your school has a similar progam, don't bother. You will end up killing yourself trying to get though all the material.

I say sell it too. You will not use it becasue there won't be enough time to look over books. Mostly your time will be spent on lecture notes and labs.

If you end up needing it in a year or two, you will be able to buy it back used for 20% of what you sold it for, since it will most likely be an old edition by then. (And by needing it, I only mean looking a few items up.)

I figure:
(1) whatever they give me in d-school will be more than adequate
(2) i doubt i'll ever have time to sift through an old book to find some random information
(3) there's always the infallible wikipedia

Yea i say sell em..BUT, before you do, Id suggest getting a hold of some 1st/2nd year students from your school and see if you can get a book list. The Cell bio book i had in undergrad was way better than the one we used, and my undergrad neurobio book is the exact same book were going to use for neural science next semester.
