How do these monthly subscription psychiatry practices work? Keep seeing $30 or 40$ a month and some are even prescribing controlled substances. Is this basically a **** care model? Spend 5 min per pt per month and maximize volume?

That's exactly how it works! You tell them you have ADHD and they send you a script or sometimes they work with a pharmacy to mail you the medications which is included in the price.

Sometimes I wonder if more medications in the USA should be available OTC so that people don't have to use these shady practices to obtain medications for their self diagnosed conditions.

This is crazy and honestly seems a bit cheap

Agreed, I've seen prices closer to $100/month though.

I think the whole thing functions like other subscription services, where most people keep paying but don't use it but they don't want to cancel for whatever reason.

Yeah It’s a way to make money off a bunch of people who have self diagnosed ADHD by selling them stimulants. If you think about it, for $1200 a year you could actually go see a real psychiatrist for real visits every 3 months if you have a legit ADHD diagnosis. But most of these people don’t…it’s basically like the pay to play opioid pill mills. If anything is gonna drive a stimulant abuse problem, it’s these places.

Anyone have an idea about what happens when Ryan Haight comes back?
i dont know but im going to lose a lot of my out of state patients in my cash practice when it does.

Somewhat non related Q. Thinking of adopting some insurances into my practice. For PP docs operating out of multiple states with an LLC or S-Corp, would you need to just establish an additional registered agent address in the state you are not physically located in if you wanted to continue to see patients with insurance in that state or do you have to form new business entities in that state?

I'd suspect those getting stimulants through the magic of cyberspace are there like clockwork. I've often wondered if the patients I have encountered on ridiculous amounts of stimulants aren't selling all or some of them.
