Hi Everyone 🙂

So, I was looking at threads from last year's application cycle to get an idea of the timing of interview notifications, app. complete notifications etc (obsessive, yes, I know, but I'm sure a lot of you can relate 🙄) and I noticed that last years applicants started a "Keeping Eachother Updated" thread around this time to keep eachother informed/give "heads-up" etc throughout the application/waiting process.

I thought it was a great idea! Anyone game? 😀

I'll start:

Colorado State U: Status page up - all material received
Davis: nothing (to be expected)
WSU: nothing
Ohio State: status page up - all materials receieved - app under "AcadReview"
U of Missouri: status page up - app complete
Cornell: Everything received on tracking page (however, still waiting on response for untracked prereq)
Tufts: nothing
UPenn: nothing

KSU: received postcard saying application complete
Cornell: complete on tracking page, have not heard about anything not met

Michigan: I e-mailed MSU admissions the other day and this was the reply I got: They are currently evaluating transcripts. We will be notified the 1st/2nd week of December. Competitive applicants will get a supplemental application and those who aren't competitive will be denied.

Good luck everyone! :luck:

I only applied to 3 schools:

Colorado
- status page up, all materials received (just need to send Fall 2008 transcripts at end of semester)

Davis - email on 11/4 - application complete

Western - 2 emails on 10/15 - VMCAS received and Supplemental Received

Iowa State: Application complete according to status page (they only email if they're missing something) - in academic review. Now it's just the waiting game for interviews...

Texas A&M: received letter in the mail about which pre-req courses still need to be completed by the end of Spring 09 (11/12).

Texas A&M: Received letter telling me that all my pre-reqs are completed. Scared the crap out of me too because I don't remember receiving any such letter last year and my first thought upon palpation of the envelope was "this is way too thin for an interview letter..."

KSU: Note card saying they've received everything. Wish every school was that prompt about it.

LSU: Repeated e-mails which still scare the crap out of me even though I've gone to their webpage at least 5 times and they say they have everything.

Mississippi State: Nothing yet; about to e-mail Mrs. Hadaway

CSU: Online site says they have everything. The little ghosted checkmark thing gave me a slight heart palpitation but then I read it was Fall of 2008 transcripts and I'm not obligated to have those in yet.

I'll start:

WSU: nothing

You most likely won't hear anything from WSU until Interview notifications are sent out. If you want to verify that everything is complete, just email Barb Hodson, she is in charge of that stuff. Good Luck!!

Good idea KittyRex!

Illinois
- Application status page up. Other than my grades being updated, there is no change.

Penn
- Email on 12th November saying application complete. I think, from the way it was worded, if they feel you are not a strong candidate, they will let you know soon!

Michigan- Application complete confirmation.

Wisconsin- Supplemental application up on 10th November.

Tufts- No news since application submission.

VMRCVM- No news.

Minnesota- Application complete confirmation.

UGA- got an email saying they rec'd everything but fall/spring transcripts

OKLAHOMA-application rec'd, dont really expect anything else until BIO scores are in.

VMRCVM-nothing

KSU-nothing...calling tomarrow, scared now I didnt get a postcard!

IOWA-nothing! How do I check the status page? Did you get an email?

WISCONSIN-got an email on 11/10 for supplemental and status page report

IOWA-nothing! How do I check the status page? Did you get an email?

LVT2DVM - To check the Iowa status page, just navigate back to where you originally filled out the supplemental. Type in your full VMCAS number and the password you created for the supplemental and you will be all set!

IOWA-nothing! How do I check the status page? Did you get an email?
Hi LVT2DMV! I did not get an e-mail from Iowa, but...I'm assuming you completed their supplemental? If so, click here:
http://www.vetmed.iastate.edu/students/services/admissions/Admissions/

Then just input your VMCAS ID and password (I believe your password for their supplemental not your VMCAS application password). Then your academic review should come up and it should list if and when everything was received. Hopefully that helps!

KSU-nothing...calling tomarrow, scared now I didnt get a postcard!

Most likely it just got lost. They sent a post card out with what they had and whether you needed to give them anything. It's not a 'upon receipt of all materials you get a lovely card' thing or anything like that.

Thanks everyone for the info!

UGA- got an email saying they rec'd everything but fall/spring transcripts

OKLAHOMA-application rec'd, dont really expect anything else until BIO scores are in.

VMRCVM-nothing

KSU-File Complete, didnt get a postcard, called admit for verification.

IOWA-ACADEMIC REVIEW! Does everyones elses page say signature page next to the signature page or does it say rec'd?

WISCONSIN-got an email on 11/10 for supplemental and status page report

Texas A&M - Got the letter which told me I still need a general Animal Science course (yay, another correspondence course for me).

Ohio - Has the nifty status page. Emailed them to make sure they got my GRE scores and experience verification form. Apparently they don't display that on the status page - they only show transcripts received.

Kansas - Got a postcard from them saying my GRE scores were missing, but I haven't received a post card since then, even though my GRE scores were sent shortly after in September. Should I be worried?

Western - They are so great about keeping in contact with you. Received several emails letting me know every time they received something.

Kansas State: Postcard saying everything has been received
Oklahoma State: Appl. recieved, just took Bio GRE on Sat. though
UF: Status page up online, everything in
LSU: State page up online, plus an annoying number of e-mails
NCSU: E-mail saying they received everything

Kansas - Got a postcard from them saying my GRE scores were missing, but I haven't received a post card since then, even though my GRE scores were sent shortly after in September. Should I be worried?

I would call them, Karmapple. It never hurts to confirm and I think most schools get these kind of calls everyday and generally are very accommodating. Good luck!

Illinois- Application status page is up; All materials received. They apparently did not have one of my transcripts (even though I mailed it out to them back in August lol), so I had to have another one mailed out within a day, but it got worked out. My status page is updated with my transcripts being received.
Kansas- Received postcard saying it was complete.
Minnesota- All materials received, I sent in the supp. fee after they emailed me of my status in October.
Wisconsin- All materials received. I was notified through email to complete their supplemental application a few days ago (which is due in Dec.)

Hey wildvet! lol

Illinois: Application status page is up. Transcripts received and verified, applications and payment received, under pending application review for interview.

Iowa: All academic materials received. Under academic review.

Davis- nothing yet (maybe i missed an e-mail...?)

Western- LOTS of e-mails to say they got everything. In committee review now.

Wisconsin- Got e-mail to do supplemental.

RVC- nothing yet

UCD- Got e-mail reminder about supplemental packet (that i still need to mail!) and that they were going to start reviewing all applications soon

Glasgow- Got an e-mail invitation for interview!!!! woot woot! 😍 Excited, but nervous. (Everyone else I know who has applied got an invitation too... are they just interviewing everyone?)

Davis- nothing yet (maybe i missed an e-mail...?)

Last year it took them a really long time to send out the "application received" emails to everyone, like, people posted on here in November that they started getting them and I didn't get one until Christmas week. And when I called the office the guy told me they were only sending them out if they were missing something, even though that was not the case. So basically just wait around and you'll hear from them eventually (I know it's lame!). 🙂

CSU: Application Status page says all my supplemental information was received

Davis: Nothing yet :scared:

Florida: Application Status page, says they don't have official transcripts so I sent them again this week

Penn: Nothing yet :scared:

Texas A&M: Application Status page says everything was received so I saved my confirmation check box

Tufts: Just an e-mail saying the application was received, nothing yet about supporting information

UTK: Nothing yet, but I've heard that's normal

Admittedly my brain functioning is low today, but I don't recall ever having received an email from UC Davis saying my app was complete. I called them a few times, though, to make sure that they received my career diversity form that I submitted. They ended up emailing back to say they had gotten it. Maybe I assumed that if they had that, they had everything else?

Anyway, Davis seems to be one of the ones with less communication and more variability in what people hear from them. I wouldn't panic. If in doubt, you could email the admissions office. Or you could call, but I know that sometimes I found calling not very productive.

Good luck, and try not to panic!

Thank you VAgirl and nyanko!! I'm definitely more calm after hearing that!!

UPDATE: Got an e-mail from Tufts not 30 minutes ago saying a status page would be available starting tomorrow. 😀

Yay! Finally received my "application complete" notice from UPenn, by email. 🙂

The email stated that they will begin reviewing apps and making decisions in December and interview invites will be going out weekly from late December all the way until March (with atleast 2 weeks notice).

I also just received the same email from Tufts, Tusky 🙂

It's nice to start getting some correspondence... It's been way too quiet, considering how many schools I applied to!

Good luck everyone!!!!:luck:

Ugh, this makes me nervous! I haven't heard anything from any of my schools. I'm going to send out an email tomorrow to be sure they got my transcripts since there was an issue with my undergrad school sending them out.

Ok. So I know I can probably look this up in my VMSAR book when I get home, but I'm on lunch break at the clinic and I want instant gratification! 😛

Does anyone know how many people applied to Tufts last year?
My email said they received 700 applications this year! 😱
That's quite a bit for ~80 spots!

Hi, I'm new to this site and it's my first time applying to vet school. So far:

Minnesota: Email saying they received all materials

RVC: Email received last week asking for an interview in February.

This is my first time applying.

Penn: Nothing
Davis (IS): Nothing
CSU: Website says they have everything. Yay!
Cornell: Sent me an e-mail to say that they are missing the transcript from the community college I went to 10 years ago in another state. My other transcripts arrived fine, so I know I had the address right, and CSU got the community college transcript, so the college sent them out. Of course, there is no human to speak to at the community college, and Cornell wont give me credit for any of the other upper division, honors, or graduate biology classes that I took. They only want the first two biology classes ever. Sigh. I finally got a hold of a friend in that state to physically go to the the community college to get the transcripts.

Sorry for the rant. I just got a fairly frustrated with this process.

Ok....happy thoughts about future in veterinary medicine.😀

VMRCVM: Nothing
Penn: Nothing
Missouri: Status page says it's complete
UTK: Nothing
Edinburgh: Nothing

Critterologist, I had a similar thing happen. I'm still not sure if my undergrad university has sent all my transcripts out - I'm going to send some emails around once I've gotten home from work today. My university changed my status from "graduated" to "attending" two YEARS after I actually graduated. They also took out student loans on my behalf. I had to get that straightened out with them and the loan company, do exit counseling again, and fill out some forms which had to be mailed to me and back. (To slow things down more, they sent the forms to my parents' house, not mine.)They told me about this just before apps were due and I sent emails around to say that I wouldn't have transcripts in on time. I'm kind of freaking out that half my schools didn't get them and all my apps will be tossed or something.

Just got an an email confirmation from UC Davis. My app is complete! 🙂

so i noticed that va girl's "complete application" email from last cycle came late december, mine came early january - looks like they are starting earlier this year - or were she and i just on the later side last year?

thoughts?

I called Davis and asked what the deal was. The nice lady asked me what my last name was, and then said "Oh, it starts with an S, we haven't gotten that far yet." So it seems they are sending out confirmations in alphabetical order. One more way in which it is no fun having a last name at the end of the alphabet.

She was also nice enough to mention that Davis has received 1500 applications this year. Gulp.😱

that makes me nervous! my last name starts with a B and i haven't heard anything yet. it's the only school i applied to this cycle so this whole having all my eggs in one basket thing makes me overly anxious about any communication from them.

and over 1500 applicant? wow. i think they had just under 1200 last year (if my memory serves me correctly). bah. my application hasn't really gotten any stronger since last year (well, in the veterinary experience arena, but i would argue it has gotten *much* stronger in the life experience arena 🙂). okay, going to stop stressing and enjoy my day off!

Crap. That's a lot more than last year. I wonder how many were in-state v.s OOS.

However, I've heard rumor that Davis may be planning to increase their class size from 131 to 160 "by the year 2008"

"At the same time, a UC task force has recommended increasing the UC Davis veterinary class size from its current 131 to 160 per year and the number of specialty residents, including some in public and food-animal health, from 90 to 150 by 2008."

You certainly should stop stressing! You've got an amazing application and what you've done over the past year shows awesome maturity and compassion for humans which is just as important. If for some dumb reason they don't let you in at UCDavis this year like they did last year, that is most assuredly their loss and you can go off to UPenn with that knowledge. 😉

Purdue: emailed me back to say that my app is complete

Illinois: status page is up

Colorado State: status page is up and just received an email from them saying my app is complete and they will let people know late Jan to early Feb

Tufts: received an email with a link to their status page

Wisconsin: received an email w/ a link to their supplemental/ status of supplementary materials

I just got an e-mail from CSU saying my application is complete. Yay! In case anyone is interested:

"Thank you for applying to the Professional Veterinary Medicine Program at Colorado State University. Based on our assessment, your application appears to be complete, including requested VMCAS and CSU supplemental application materials. We are now in the process of evaluating your application and hope to contact applicants between late January to mid February with the outcome of the evaluation."

Pupsforseeing- why don't you just give Davis a call? It can't hurt for them to see that you are interested in the progress of your application, and you'll know for sure if they haven't gotten to you yet for some reason.

i am currently living in mexico and don't have easy access to a phone line--internet is my access to the outside world. if i haven't heard anything by mid-december i will either email them or find a way to use a phone. it's good for me, i need to learn to be patient 🙂

RVC: Email received last week asking for an interview in February.

I'm so jealous! 🙂 I reeeally was hoping for an interview there!!! I heard back from Glasgow, but I thought maybe they were the only ones to make decisions so quick... oh well. : /

Hey, all, I got a letter from Penn today asking for some documents they didn't receive. So expect to hear something soon if you're missing a fee/transcript/etc!

Glasgow was the only place I applied to this round and I can tell you that not everyone who applied received an interview invite. :scared:😕

OMG!!!😱

K-State: received a postcard in the mail saying my app was complete a few days after the deadline. It even made it to my new address in the country. Then (drum roll please) I received an e-mail invite on 11/5 to interview 12/20!!! 😍 It said to call back and confirm you would like to be interviewed, well duh! Man that makes all of the hard work worth it. I wonder what getting accepted feels like (fingers crossed).🙄

CSU: Status page shows everything has been received. Also received that same e-mail someone else posted about.

IOWA: My status page says academic review (be kind ADCOMS)

BYW - I am instate for KS. Sorry I didn't post sooner I have been a bit in shock over this and at first thought it might be a mean joke. I'm a non-traditional long shot so you know, my own worst enemy.

GOOD LUCK everyone!

Someone should start the traditional Interview Dates/Acceptance dates for the Class of 2013 thread (by school) so you feel more comfortable posting! 😉
