Hi everyone,

I plan to apply to pharmacy school this year, but my mother is terminally ill and I need to take care of her in CA. My science GPA is 3.3 and the overall GPA is 3.4. We live in Claremont so Western and KGI SoP would be the best option for me. Given my low stats, I think I may have a better chance with KGI, but the school is very new and it just got pre-candidate status. I also heard about LECOM-Bradenton Distant Education program, but I'm not sure about finding rotations in CA. If you had to decide between these KGI and LECOM-B, what school would you choose? Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I would not choose any of those if those are my only choices.

Is that just me?

Thanks for your response. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I have everything ready for PharmCAS already, but my mother suddenly turned ill that I had to return home and take care of her. I want her to know that she's not the reason I quit applying and a hinder to my education and future career. And may I ask what would you do in my situation? I really need some advice from Sdn fellows.

Have you tried applying to schools near by?

I have said this before in other threads. But if I lived in Cali I wouldn't apply to pharmacy schools. They are all so expensive an the cost of living is outrageous. I would look into some other career options that you think you would enjoy.
