Impressive list of matches so far from the Caribbean.

Congrats to all our medical students fellow students who are kicking butt in order to succeed in life.

Sincerely,

MDPWR.

No surprize to me I have been flammed for years for pointing these things out!
Success is possible to those who work for it! Nothing is handed to you but if you are hungery like Us then you get what you want in the end!

Rock On!

Ahh, but where is their unmatched list... oh ya, they dont list those.

Just as US schools do not, US schools also keep the dirty little secrete of those who drop out and gulp Fail out too. It's a myth that everybody passes.

Whole heartedly agreed with yaa on this one, if you want it bad you will get it!!!!

Good luck to you to man in a year or so.

Hard work does pays off!

Back to back matches in Anesthesiology cool from Saba University school of medicine way to go man!!!!

Ortho, emergency med, PM & R, Gen Surg, Ob/Gyn etc., just to thrown in a few in here.

Great news for the people who actually believe in hard work. Old pro you are right man success come to people who actively seek it.

Sincerely,

MDPWR.

Just like in the US these drop outs and Failures are "insignificant" so the US medical schools make sure we do not know the real numbers.

Fail a year = Reinforcement of concepts, review year, extended study ( My version of where its hidden) ( I know of 2 students who failed a year in US schools so if I know 2 how many is the real number? It could be ugly eh?)

Drop Out = Leave of Absence ( they will come back of course! But after 10 years? 😱)

At least this is my take on it!

I wonder when do the actual list of matches will be posted on the Caribbean med schools websites.

When H freezes over Or when US schools tell us the whole truth too.

I think so many are naive to think that US schools are a bastion of truth and goodness they have things they do not disclose either.

I think some where in early April, the Caribbean school have their list of match posted.

Thanks.

The list is up on the SGU website if you go to Alumni and Residency Appointments. I believe that this year we have matched SGU's first Urology spot. We had a pretty good match this year and many people got competitive residencies, but many others did not and had to settle for something else or maybe even failed to get anything. I applied for EM this year and did not match. I ended up scrambling for a prelim medicine spot. I'll reapply next year. Still, the many successful matches on the 2008 SGU match lists shows that hard work and dedication do pay off eventually. Congrats to those who matched this year and good luck to those that will be a part of next year's match.

SGU had at least one or two Urology in the past.
