I kinda forgot the difference between kinase and phosphorylase? 😳 ( damn it mcb 102 class)

kinase attaches a phosphate group while pfophorylase cleaves a phosphodiesterbond.

I thought phosphatase catalyzes the cleavage of a phosphate ester bond not phosphorylase?

in case you meant the difference between kinase and phosphatase which actually have somthing in common,
the difference is kinase attaches a phosphate group while phosphatase removes the phosphate group
these are very important in glucagon formation and regulation

oh no i meant kinase and phosphorylase not kinase and PHOSPHATASE..

phosphorylases are enzymes that catalyze the addition of a phosphate group from an inorganic phosphate (phosphate+hydrogen) to an acceptor, while a kinase transfers a phosphate group from a donor (usually ATP) to an acceptor. I misread before, I thought it said phosphatase.
