debating between the ranking of three programs:
1) King Drew
2) U. Maryland
3) U. Arkansas

I like King Drew for location (close to home), but I'm worried about the reputation of the hospital (especially since they recently lost sx and rads. I'm also worried that my training may not be up to par b/c of poor staffing/lab turnaround AND b/c potentiall employers may think it's a poor program. For all those in residency or in practice: what is the overall opinion on the training and the quality of the residents from that program? My biggest fear is that (if I go there) I will go around the next twenty years w/ a black clound around me b/c of my residency training. Pls. give advice.

No one really cares (IMHO) what program you went to, as long as you're a competent EM board certified somebody.

I wouldnt' hesitate about Maryland, though, I ranked them second, and did a rotation there, absolutely loved it there!

Q, DO

i went ahead and ranked them #2, after Maricopa. I agree with you...location, location!
