This kitten is six weeks old and was born into fleas so I have a hard time believing it has suddenly developed an issue with them. Weather is cooling and flea count is down.
It shakes its head frequently, scratches, and bites as if it is the fleas, and seems to have a hard time walking straight for hours a day, this developing in the last forty-eight hours. It writhes and complains while trying to sleep, jerking about occasionally.
Some of its focus seems to be on the ears and I wonder if being in pain isn't sensitizing it to fleas.
It's mother will not feed it and we have had to supplement with formula. The woman I live with, on a fixed income, has recently switched to formula for human babies and the kitten attacks wet cat food ravenously. It also passes more gas than any cat I've known but I think you will agree that the symptoms in the video seem to indicate some other issue.
I have included a link to a YouTube video I just took.
