One more random question for you folks: Does anyone know what computer systems Kroger Pharmacies use currently? Any plans on upgrading? Thanks in adcance!!

PDX, but they are in the process of rolling out a new system (developed just for them), very similar to connexus-Walmart's.

Depends on which region you are in. The old system is archaic....you kinda start to like it once you get used to it though....

Yeah I agree. I'm very comfortable with pdx right now so I want to get a job with the pharmacies that are using pdx. It is archaic but you can fly once you know it.

I currently work at a Kroger pharmacy and they were slated to release the new computer system (EasyFill PRN) on April 11 nationwide. However, they were having numerous problems with implementing the system so they are delaying its release for the time being. Currently, all Kroger pharmacies use archaic PDX and the new system is supposed to rival Walgreens or Wal-Mart in functionality. Based on the few hands-on training I've had with the new system, it looks like many changes will need to be made before it goes fully live.

I can remember back in '04 they were suppossed to have it up by Xmas. Mmmmhmm.....

The current system (PDX) is fairly easy to pick up on. My friend working at Eckerd says they have the same type of system ( if not the exact same ). We were actually getting fitted with new wiring and like everyone before me said, new computer systems are supposedly coming soon. I just hope the new system doesn't turn out to be as tedious as the new medturn. Thank God for crtl-w though...

Yeah, you were right. He worked at Eckerd, which is now a Rite aid (where they use nexgen now). Thanks for the correction.

I can't remember the actual name of the system, but it starts up with a screen that has NDC all the way acrossed it! We have gone from the TRex system to this one and soon the easyfill. The new system (easyfillPRN) is being implemented as we speak. In my store, we had to start training within the last week and a half. Some stores in southwest Ohio will have the system in the next month. I have been with the company for over 10 years and can say that I am glad to be getting a system that you can actually find a prescription or a signature without digging through endless amounts of paperwork!

we just converted over to the new software. it has its good points, the system keeps track of where everything is. but it does take longer to and more people to fill a single script. which doesnt make sense with hours being cut.

I was on board when Walmart went from PDX to Connexus. Everyone hated how long it took and bitched. But, now people seem to like the software alot. I suspect it's more a matter of people being uncomfortable with an unfamiliar system than the system actually being that inconvenient.

im a technician in kroger southwest. we just went live on 6.23, things are going surprisingly well! as long as everyone knows their place in workflow you can still easily fly with this system😀

Dallas Kroger's have had it for several months. I have asked a few pharmacist when doing transfers if they like it. I have heard the same thing. It is a nice system once you get used to it. It takes a little longer because there are work stations and with staffing cuts there is not enough people to to staff them.

too many steps, too many clicks. im a keyboard lover and the mouse is driving me insane. but it is cool to be reduced to a barcode. reminds me of that bank commercial where they put a barcode on the guy's head
