Anyone know if a quick response is good or bad. Interviewed Jan 25 and e mailed admissions said they would send me a decision later this week. Is this normal? I am going nutz. I thought my interviews went well but am still verrrry anxious and worried. I heard quick replies are almost sure rejections

Any advice or thoughts are greatly appreciated

Umm i'd say this is atypical...I was accepted to KU and just got a packet...although one of my interviewers did call because he wanted to let me know the decision before the packets arrived...but who knows...I honestly can't see them sending you an e-mail like that out of nowhere...did you e-mail them some time back asking about your status? if not my bet is one of two things...you are in the final pool or they sent that e-mail to the wrong e-mail address...just my thoughts.

Waitlist? Acceptance? Rejection?

Anyone know the stats

How many interviewed
How many rejected usually
How many accepted.. This waiting is stressing me out....

Any news or info?

I don't know exact stats but I was told they interviewed around 400 last year and accepted close to 200. The class is only 175 or so but they invite a few more, knowing that a certain amount will decide not to attend.
They let a few in the same month as their interview, but only a small few. (don't know how many) Then they send out the rest of the letters mid march. I think they said they wanted them sent out before spring break.
The letters will be either yes, no, or wait. Those on the waitlist will recieve a number to let them know how far they are from the top of the waitlist. The website will have a constant listing of what number they are on with the waitlist so one will know if they are about to recieve an acceptance letter before recieving one.
I assume you were told you'd recieve news soon because you were interviewed close to the end of the month. However, a very small percentage of the class recieve an acceptance letter before March.

Thanks for the info. So I take it most applicants get this letter. hmm.. interesting

That’s not quite correct.

We were told that roughly the top 10-15% of each interview group receives immediate acceptance. Unless KU added dates to the interview schedule mentioned in the secondary invite, they had 17 interview sessions. With about 40 students per interview group, 68-102 acceptances have already gone out. A current MS2 there told me that an enormous number of spots went EDP this year, around 50.

Those numbers are pretty rough, but would mean that anywhere from 100-150 acceptances have already been granted, i.e. 50-75% of the number they plan to offer.

I received an email today for accepted students that mentions a March 15th scholarship deadline. As such, I imagine they'll be sending out a fairly large chunk of acceptances within the next two weeks.

Maybe, maybe not.

Last year, I didn't find out until almost at the end of March. I would have had NO time to complete applications for the scholarships, which is quite silly.
They tell you at the interview that the deadline for financial scholarships is March 15 but then say that they will notify the majority of the class in mid to late March of their acceptance?

You are most likely out of luck for scholarships (the competitive ones) if you get in late in March. 😕

Got a letter from the registrar telling me to confirm non instate status.. It also has a personal KUID number.... Is this a good sign?? any thoughts?

Thnks
