LA Area Programs

I was wondering if any of you southern californians could share your opinions/perceptions/experiences with the various programs in LA. I rotated at USC and feel like I got a good idea of what that program is like but I don't know anything about Kaiser, Harbor, Cedars, UCLA.....

A few months back someone posted a really good analysis of the DC programs... maybe someone out there could do the same for LA? 😳

On a simular note, I found a list of the unfilled programs from last year the other day and UCLA didn't fill (UCLA proper and Harbor I think). Just wondering if anyone has any idea why?

UCLA actually did fill last year... they just didn't fill some of their prelim spots....

The only programs in Cali that didn't fill in 2005:

Kaiser LA: 3 of 5 spots filled
UCSF-Fresno: 0 of 3 spots filled
Harbor: 2 of 5 spots filled
King-Drew: 1 of 3 spots filled

I am really surprised that any program in LA would go unfilled just because it is considered a very disereable city. Anyone have any ideas why Harbor and Kaiser LA didn't fill???? 😕

Well that makes more sense. Thanks. Now I'm going to have to decide if I REALLY want to get another whole plane ticket if I get an UCLA interview (thought that not filling thing might make my decision easier). I really wish these programs that wait for the deans letter would put their interview dates on the website so we can at least try to plan!
