so on destroyer chem number 108, it states that a buret is used for 12.3 ml or odd numbers of that sort, while a pipet allow" transfers of accrately known volumes from one container to another"...what the heck does that mean exactly?? Also, i read on another problem that pipets are used for titrations. Can someone please clarify the differences between these two.

What are the functions of the following...
1. soxlet extracter.....never used in my lab at school
2.graduated cylinder
3. volumetric flask.
