I had been working in a research lab for over a year with work done on three projects near completion to be published when the lab was suspended due an investigation of the a separate project of the PI. Is the suspension something I should mention in the Work/Activities part of the application? It is unsure if the manuscripts we had been working on will make it to publication.

It was an issue with IRB protocol regarding the handling of samples by an international exchange student.

Some adcoms on here might know better, but I don't know why you would mention it. I mean it has nothing to do with you or your experiences in the lab. It doesn't sound like it even has anything to do with the PI of the lab...

Exact same thing happened where I previously worked. Was the student from China?

No need to mention this. Just mention your research. It's rare that UG students get enough data to publish anyway.
