Does anyone know what the actual requirement is for follow up by an anesthesiologist while running an epidural for labor, and who sets this requirement. Every 2 hours? What are people’s typical practice?

If they don't call, no f/u until rounds the day after delivery (or so). If there is the slightest difficulty with the catheter, the L and D nurses will determine the "requirement".

This is what happens where I am

We do "labor epidural rounds" q4hr - pre-templated note in the EMR.

We are q1-2h if free. Residency program though so...‍whateve
