What are the labs like in d-school?

You mean the physical appearance/condition of the lab or the academic/clinical portion of the lab course?

I would say it is much more hands on than in undergrad. Usually, in undergrad you will do at most titration, mixing solutions and minor dissection, microscope work, and blood smear.
So far, in the first year we have already waxed teeth, dissected cadeavor doing sealant and soon, perio. It is much more intense as well as you have competencies on them but on the other hand it is much more interesting. Not like undergrad when you think lab is just a waste of several hours of your time!

a lot of the lab work so far has been pretty mindless: ie waxing teeth for hours on end.
But there is a good deal of fun in operative lab learning the various cavity preps and gross will of course be an adventure in the spring. Histo lab is pretty boring, i guess it's interesting, but what use is looking at slides to me?
So long as you don't set yourself on fire in morph lab like i did monday; lab is a good time.
