So it seems all the pre-December interview invites have gone out and of the 9 schools I applied to, I only received invites to 3. Should I have expected more, did I pick the wrong schools, anyone care to reason this out for me?
Here are my stats:
DAT: AA/PA/QR/RC/BIO/GC/OC/TS 25/23/23/25/26/25/26 Accepted 6/08/2017
GPA: 3.71
Everything else seems to be in par with everyone else I've spoken to. Im a Florida resident, applied to most of the southern schools and a few others out of region (Columbia, Harvard, Colorado). All my pre-professional advisors really talked me up on how many interviews I'd receive so I'm kind of confused on how to feel about what I've gotten.
Anyone else in the same situation as me as far as seeming to be lacking in interview invites?

3 interviews out of 9 is pretty standard and you really can't expect to get interviews everywhere you applied no matter what stats you have. Just do well on the interviews you have and you should be fine. Plus schools are still giving out interviews so you may receive more so 3 interviews is actually really good at this point

UF, UAB, UNC
All great schools. I wouldn't worry too much because in the grand scheme of things, you've had 3 pre-december interviews. That is much better than the position a lot of other applicants are in. Also, don't forget about post-december interviews! If you get an interview after December 1st, that means the school still likes you enough to offer you a sit down. Getting in is getting in, doesn't matter when it happens.

Yeah, good luck man. You have killer stats, so I really wouldn't worry too much. In fact, try not to worry at all!

I applied to six schools (two of them being columbia, harvard) and I only heard back from one school (interview invite at Temple, which is my top choice thankfully) in mid September. God knows what goes on during the admission process (why people who submit later get earlier interview invites; why people with lower stats hear back earlier than others with higher stats).

I feel the same way as you do, believe me. I used to refresh my email 20x a day. Now, I'm just like, it'll happen when it'll happen. You know? Patience is virtue.

You may receive more interviews, you may not. I was told by multiple people in the dental community that I would get ZERO interviews and ZERO acceptances, but obviously that didn't turn out to be the case.

With your stats, the lack of invites have to do with an unconvincing personal statement. But frankly if you've gotten 3 out of 9 possible interviews, that's a 33% success rate, which is nothing to fret about.

Being the right fit for your prospective schools is just as important as having high stats. Think about it, not hard from the 1000s of apps each school gets to fill a class of 3.9+ gpa and 23aa+ dat students
