Step I Lange: path cards

what do you think about the Lange Path cards? they seem to contain a lot of the same information as BRS Path which has been rated really high here on SDN, but in a clinical vignette format. are they worth studying? i like to keep them in my bag so if i have a few extra minutes, i can study a couple of cards.

i am using lange pharm cards, but beware as there are a few blatant mistakes (ie. Card for propanolol #53 states, "by blocking beta-2 receptor, vascular and respiratory smooth muscle constriction is decreased, which results in peripheral vasodilation as well as bronchodilation.") There are also countless grammatical errors. How could docs from stanford and harvard not know the difference between AFFECT and EFFECT. Where are the proofreaders for McGraw-Hill??

The Lange path cards are fantastic. Stop reading SDN and go get them. I studied those at the gym and can honestly say I didn't need to go over BRS Path at all by the time I had gotten through all of them.

I liked Kaplan Biochem a lot, and always recommend it. But it is a time commitment to get through it and do it right (~7days).

Physio? I never found a good source for that. My school taught it quite well the first time around, so I was able to stick to BRS Physio for my purposes. Beware though, BRS phys has a pretty bad endocrine section. I would definitely use class notes or something for endocrine.

Stay away from the BRS path cards, they are awful. All the Lange stuff (books included) are head and shoulders above the other materials out there.

I too think the Lange cards are much better then BRS. I bought the Lange micro flashcards and liked them so much that I got the pharm and path ones too. As somebody else mentioned there are mistakes in the pharm, but they are pretty obvious. I feel that the pharm ones are a flashcard version of what is in first aid plus a clinical vignette.
