any suggestions? one that's reliable and affordable...

I have a dell laptop but it doesn't have a DVD option. Will that be a problem?

NYU does not supply laptops...

Get a Macbook Pro, the 17" version is preferred.

yes, you do. they send you an order sheet with two options... an IBM and a Mac. if i remember correctly, you should be getting the info fairly soon...
