hi everyone,
i was just going through all the posts and there are some really hot topics like rejection, acceptances , interview calls , exam stress and everything ...so i thought i would post a lighter topic.... about my experience in Las Vegas...Well i would highly recommend to visit the place ....believe me its really cool...as from the start of preparing for the national boards and preparing for interviews and finally getting accepted into a program ..the whole process is a real roller coaster ride....so just to ease ourselves from the hectic and stressful process a little bit of lighter side is definitely necessary...
LAS VEGAS - the place where u see thousands of people from different walks of life visit...forget about everything in life for that particular time and enjoy the life in Vegas...Believe me when one of my friend said 'Its totally different life in Vegas' - I didnt take her seriously...but it was true...it really washes away every single thought in ur mind and ull just start living for the moment...
I dont mean u should gamble or anything....to my experience ull definitely lose money one way or the other...all iam saying is the whole energy in Vegas..i saw all smiling faces wherever i turned around...Right from I landed in the airport till the whole trip all i saw was the REAL HAPPY PEOPLE...
Even the 60 year old becoming 6 year old and i remember an old couple shouting as soon as they reached the airport - "WE ARE IN VEGAS BABY"....thats wat iam talking abt...i know its a fantasy world which will last for only a couple of days...but still i fell its worth trying it..
I think most of them would b having their experience in Vegas...pls post ur experience and share the lighter side of urs....

Hi
Yeah, I agree with you. Las Vegas is such a glamourous and beautiful city. You would think what's in a city that is in the middle of a desert, but it's a totally different view when you get there. I was there a good few years ago and really enjoyed it. Everything just looked so nice and glamourous. It's like a city that never sleeps 🙂. I did gamble a bit and lost, of course 🙂. You could hardly win anything in such a big casino. But of course, you don't have to gamble like Tooth slooth said to be there. You can just walk around and enjoy the scenery. It's definitely a place worth travelled to. I was there for only a few days and I thorougly enjoyed it like Tooth slooth.

u are so rite..I went there this nov.and I had a really good time.and not to forget the money I won.(well its not bad when u win $400 from a bet of $10)
the casinos and the hotels were larger than life.I loved it there specially ceasers palace and the venetian.it was just awesome.I would recommend that everyone should try to go to vegas at least once.

hi,
i totally agree with u guys....i thought the same way when i was first told abt vegas...a place in the middle of desert with some casinos ...i thought it is probably a place for guys for hanging out...but believe me its place for everyone....As cheer up said you need not gamble to enjoy Vegas...there are other things which makes vegas more lively....Be it the fountains of bellagio or water volcano of the mirage or the light experience in the fremont street....everything is glamorous...just walking around the strip and seeing the colourful lights..seeing people who r so happy and enthusiastic... makes vegas the ultimate tourist destination and not just a place for gambling...

hi everyone...
Vegas is truly exquisite. the best part was the money I won on the slot machines, imagine winning $200 with 1 dollar on a 1 cent slot machine.. that was amazing. 😎 and so many free shows and the good food. u dont really have to spend a lot of money in Vegas to have fun. one place where u can really forget all about NBDE and the admissions 🙂
sometime I wish they had a dental school which offered advanced standing program,....well...I guess nobody would really study in such a place.
Take care guys 👍

the best time to visit vegas is nov. to march. In summer it just gets too hot. the temp. sores to around 120.F.AND IF U GET A CHANCE U SHOULD TRY TO GO TO GRAND CANYON too.it is just amazing.
as tooth sloth mentioned I loved the water fountains at bellagio.they dance to the tunes and its just so beautiful.

😀
I visited Vegas in march of 05..it was so much fun.
I also loved the water works outside Ballagio.. but I the one I liked best was with an egyptian theme...aaaahhh.

hi everyone,
Of course i forgot that part of it...pls visit grand canyon too...its like 4 hours drive from vegas but its really worth it...if u r amazed by all the man made things in vegas..the lights, the casino themes...u'll b amazed by the natural beauty of the grand canyon... great place to go and relax....
and i totally agree with dr.tanujpuri...for all the east coast people ...pls visit t he place in winter ...coz it is around 70 at that time in vegas and ull really enjoy..i think summer is really hot...

hey everybody
I just got back from a trip to the west coast..........but unfortunately could not go to vegas as it was a short trip.......after reading this thread I feel I have missed something...will definitely plan a trip to vegas.......but I dont think I can take vacations like this soon....I'm having such a hard time to get back into studying.......anybody in the same boat???I really wana get back into the groove soon.....

hi shlo...
i totally understand wat u r going thro'...everyone of us have the same problem...a five day trip can cost me ten days...like I get excited 2 days b4 the trip and take it easy.. and after the trip u really step into reality and think about y shsould u b doing it ? but still that five days of trip counts...but u have to have the strength to get back to the groove i guess..which for me is really getting tough day by day...but still u cant run away from it..u gotta face it...so iam trying my level best to try to concentrate ....but if u get chance pls visit Las Vegas...its really a wonderful place to be in...it really takes out loads of pressure out of ur head...Hope u had a gr8 time in West coast...pls share ur experience if u wish too...

take care
bye..
