Is anyone familiar with the post-bac program at LaSalle University in Philadelphia. I have not found very much information on these threads and am interested in the pros/cons of the program. Thanks to all for your help.

It's expensive
There is not really a systematic sequence, you kind of get in where you fit in.
Classes are only during the day, you have to take them with undergrads
The jump you RIGHT in!
First day of class, they'll be chatting in bio as if you've already got an understanding of something you may not.

Really...it's a rough one. I wonder why I never hear people mention it.
I sat in on a full day, after requesting to do so through the Head of the program, and it was intense for me, even as an observer.

I'll be attending LaSalle for Post Bac in the Fall. This is what i've gathered so far.

I'm not sure where the previous poster is getting information from, but LaSalle ended up being the cheapest option for me. It's $425/credit hour so that works out to $14,400 for your entire pre-med education.

Compared to other post bac programs that's cheap. ( UNC was going to be 18k, UVM was something like 30-40k, Tufts is up there too.)

The program seems flexible. I already have a science degree and a few pre-med classes so i'm not TRULEY a career changer, but I still need a LOT of the classes and therefore an SMP or postbac program meant to enhance an applicant wouldn't be right for me either. The program director is very friendly and was willing to work with my unique situtation.

I can't speak to the difficulty of classes yet. I have spoke with an undergrad at LaSalle and she said that the classes are challeging but not impposible to get A's in if you do your work and put in the effort to study. Post-bacs take classes with the undergrads.

LaSalle has a linkage with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and PCOM

Hope this helps.

I have been accepted to LaSalle's postbac premed program. I come from a rigorous architecture background and am wondering how the program schedule works. Is it possible to do all my pre-reqs in a year? The reason I am asking is because other strong postbac programs such as Bryn Mawr/Goucher have a one year + one summer curriculum. Also, can you tell me how the linkage opportunity works for students who are in the process of taking the pre-reqs? How feasible is it or how many students actually link? Also, how do you like the program so far and your course load?

Thanks
