help, i am looking for the usual deal...improve GPA, MCAT program, but still cannot find one to tailor to my needs. I have completed a science GPA of 2.9 (my last years were 3.4, 3.6), AO of 3.5, and cum of 3.3 ( last two years were 3.7 and 3.9). oh....and 13 mcat...i know!!!! I just graduated with pre-med! and All i can say is that I am truly stuck. I have been reading these threads for 2 days straight and am realizing that I am alone. I have applied to a few post bacs and MS programs (barry, nova, american...anyone heard of roosevelt, worceter, or manhattenville?) I am now wondering if it is worth it...no, if ill even be accepted. I have read many posts that state to just retake classes, upper level, and buckle down for the mcats, (oh.. or go to the caribbean). but i need more than that...i need structure, a formal plan, such as SMP BU or MSP, but seems that I cannot enroll for these. my goal is an MD or DO, some way. PLease if anyone has any advice, anything specific at all , i would love to hear from you. thanks, bacQ 🙂

Need is one thing, but realistically what are your choices. If you have no alternative, then do the unstructured post-bacc options that are available to you. I can guarantee that there will be times in the future in post-bacc, med school that will not go according to your needs.

All that has been said in terms of what you can do has been said in these forums dating back to god knows when. If you need to improve your GPA/MCAT then do a post-bacc (official or unoffocial), grad school, special masters programs, or another bachelors.

To improve your MCAT, you can take a prep course, which has been extensively covered on SDN as well. If GPA requirements or background is keeping you from getting into these programs, then there's not much else to do, other than to find programs outside the current area, or deal with taking an unstructured program.

We can't provide you with your lifes plan, as we are not you. All we can recommend is to take more classes through whatever route that works for you, and do better on the MCAT. But as you stated, thats been covered already. Sorry 😕
