Last date to take DAT

Hey guys,

If I am planning to start dental school next Sept and start application in the summer, when is the latest to take DAT? I assume some schools have roll-in policy. I will mainly apply Canadian schools maybe a few American schools, and I am not sure the schedule of American schools. Any help would be appreciated.

The ADA site mentions how long it takes to finalize the DAT, which I believe is 3-4 weeks to get finalized scores. The latest you would take the DAT would be 4 weeks before whatever the school application deadline is since your DAT score must be final before your application will be reviewed. Its not recommended to apply that late since slots will fill up and selectivity may increase.

When do you get your DAT Scores? Right away after the exam session is over?

Yep, right after you submit the survey you get your scores and they'll print an unofficial score sheet for you as well. You can actually fax the unofficial score sheet to some schools to speed up your application. You can ask the schools you're applying to if they'll take the unofficial score sheet so you don't have to wait for AADSAS to update.

Be aware some US schools no longer accept Canadian DAT score, not sure if the Canadian schools will have the similar policy or not. Make sure u check with the school and decide which DAT u want to take
