Any insight on last minute away rotation? A program I had contacted earlier this year emailed me saying they had a spot open up for an elective rotation in February. As far as the Match is concerned, is it worth my time to rotate away?

Thanks!

If you will be on service with the PD or Dept. Chair? Maybe. Otherwise...no.

Good for experience, probably not good for helping your match chances though.

Moving to clinical rotations forum.

I know of people who did this and subsequently matched at the program. Whether that was because they were already interested enough to do an away, ranked it high, and would have been ranked to match anyway or because the rotation helped is anyone's guess.
