If i take the MCAT on july 21 (score releases aug 22), will i be too late in the cycle if I have my primary submitted by next week and complete the secondaries by end of July.
I already have one mcat score of 508 (128,124,128,128).
Im trying to raise the CARS

For MD schools ?
Yes, like:

U VM

Rush (note: very service/experience oriented with a 150hr service requirement. Avg student has 800 hours of community service, and >1800 hours of health care exposure.)

NYMC

Creighton

Albany

Rosy Franklin

Drexel

Temple

MCW

SLU

WVU

Jefferson

Tulane

Loyola

Wake Forest

VCU

Netter

EVMS

Oakland-B

Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)

Any DO program. I can't recommend Touro-NY, or LUCOM, for different reasons

Your state school(s).

And if you apply with a score and a planned score, there is nothing that requires a school to wait for new score. Rushing an additional MCAT while you have applied is not a smart move. If you are planning for the MCAT, you should be spending near 100% of your time, focus, and energy on that, If you doing an application and secondaries, all of which need to be good, you should spending near 100% of your time, focus, and energy on that. So if you can mathematically show me that you have 200% of total time., energy and resources, then maybe I would think its a good idea.

Cant you just indicate on your primary that you plan on taking the MCAT on this date, and then they view the applicant then.

They're not required to wait.

Your score is the MD matriculant median, it's fine and you risk doing worse if you retake.

you can indicate you have planned MCAT but there is no obligation that a school for that score to evaluate your application

So you recommend I keep my score and apply early and broadly to schools? Most schools I see on the MSAR have average mcat scores in the range of 510-513 so its just a bit intimidating.

The MD matriculant median is around a 508. Some schools like Loyola in Chicago have MCAT averages down to 504. Just live and breath MSAR for a bit and you should be able to come up with a decent list. What state are you from?

Strong performance in SMP + MCAT around accepted average + a few IS med schools, I really don't see the point in retaking.

Do you have all other aspects of your application complete? Like your personal statement and letter requests, etc?
