Last semester before hitting submit on app

Would it be safe to say if you have a shaky gpa to have a good gpa in the semester prior to your app being turned in?

...as opposed to having a shaky GPA the semester prior, in addition to a shaky gpa beforehand?

Of course it's better to have an upward trend in GPA vs. the same GPA or a downward trend.

So the upward trend really matters?
I mean, it does matter.. but if you have a 2.4 GPA your entire college career and then get a 3.0 the semester you apply.. it isn't gonna make THAT much of a difference.

So the upward trend really matters?

Uhhh yeah of course it matters?

But I doubt one good last semester is going to do you any good. An upward trend is supposed to show that you messed up when you were younger but now you have your **** together and have proof.

This means b's and maybe a C or D freshman year but better and better grades sophomore, and junior year

For me I realized that the best chance of getting into Podiatry school is to apply as early as possible if you don't have the best grades.
I have a low GPA now because last year I took 24 total 420+ level classes and had my Adv BioChem, Adv Physio, and BioPhysics (all 420+ level classes) final exams on the SAME DAY in the spring. That is why for me I hope they ask about my poor grades during an interview. And also I just hate it how my major is the only one that has even more than two classes 420+ level classes that are based on a class rank instead of a straight scale, so that is more about competition than earning the grade...and I will have had seven of those classes in just my last 3 semesters at uni.

I applied even before getting my MCAT score b/c I realized that with a semester and still taking 13 credits of 400+ level classes left I am not gonna have time until the semester ends to study again. For me, I just saw it as if I waited until mid January to apply and I just get a point or two higher on the MCAT there will probably be less than 40% of the seats still available at Kent State, Scholl, and Barry (my 3 top choices).

Again, this is just my view on it and I put my application in on August 25th and took the MCAT on August 9th.
