how much has it changed now that it is computerized? i know they changed the # of questions and the scheduling is different, but what else should i expect? i am retaking it next april...

Just read a couple of the {Official} Date here MCAT threads with all the posts. I was quite surprised by the real one. My friend took it in 03 and his interpretation did not meet mine. Much harder.

If you took your 2003 exam and removed the four easiest passages from the two science sections and the two easiest verbal passages from your verbal section, put it on a computer, that would be the new MCAT. The average passage is definitely harder, but you should also note that some of the really difficult passages people have been complaining about are the same topics and questions people were complaining about four years ago. The weirdness factor seems stronger now, because it's not diluted by easier passages.

The funny thing is that for the AAMC practice exams, it would appear that the passages they removed were not the eaiser ones.

Well, I took two paper AAMCs 6 & 7.

None of those passages even appear to be within the same league to me.

I think the AAMCs are so easy compared to what I saw on Aug 20th. Kaplan was closer but still not as hard for the sciences.

Got 34's on both.

I think a 28 would be a gift in Sept when my score comes.

I did make some stupid mistakes on PS but it was more of a guessing game to me. Narrow it down and move on. The discretes were way harder.

At least now, I know what to expect and will prepare for that test and not practice tests.

So, what would you do differently this time around? Am considering purchasing only CBT 9 and 10, which are the only ones I don't have on paper. Would be too late, but perhaps I would buy Kaplan Qbank if I end up voiding and retaking.
