flipping out a little bit -

test is friday the 8th - what do you think is time better spent - 300+ questions per day leading up till the test (would be repeats of UW) or reading FA over and over - or I could always cry for three days, and spend the last two days watching Borat and Chappelle...

already took all NBME's, finished UW, 150 released...just need to fill the next five days as efficiently as possible...

I'm taking it the 12th, and for my last review days ( i think i have 4 scheduled), I'm just going to do questions out the wazoo all morning, and go over first aid in the afternoon. I'll probably see what subjects i'm doing worse in, and focus on those in FA. The day before my test, I'm quitting at 2 and going to have a cigar and watch a movie that night.

cigar - very nice suggestion - i was saving that for post-exam...maybe a whole box of cuban Partagas...

For your own sake and sanity...

I'd highly recommend avoiding computers of any kind the day before your exam. (With the possible exception of an optional early morning block of 50 questions if thats been your routine.) But for most of that particular day, either just go all out with first aid... or do NOTHING study-related. Doing a bulk of last minute questions will only scare you... for no reason.

Think happy thoughts. 😎

shameless bump - sorry - but my five days left becomes four days left in 15 minutes...

i sat down today and decided that i want to read some FA, do x amount of questions random, x amount pharm "right before the test" and a block of strict physio equations "right before the test" and a block of biostats "right before the test" - and after all of it was worked out - i had a beautiful schedule that i should have started about three days ago

seriously though - perhaps from anyone who just took it - with so many good options available - what is the best use of the two or three days before the test - we'll leave the one day right before for just light reading and relaxing to calm the mind - but right before that - do we stun it with 500 questions a day for three monster days so the real thing looks short, or do we skim FA over and over looking for that one side effect that we might have forgotten about and could save us on the big day?

or maybe i'm the only one that is experiencing this odd mix of confidence/ fear/ constipation/ diarrhea/ relaxation/ paralyzing doubt emotional roller coaster for this final week...

Think how it'd feel to run a 10K after finishing a marathon. That's the logic with 500 questions/day. That would be a big drain on you. Don't do it.

Took the test today, and will write a more in-depth report in the Step 1 Experiences thread, but if you don't feel rather comfortable with it, study enzyme and drug kinetics, and know those. Definitely was the things that stuck out to me most, of course, since I found them the most challenging.

just curious if there is a way that you could selectively do just equations/calculations on a Qbank?

b/c i'd like to do this also
