I was going crazy studying for the DAT, as many of you are now. My best advice, besides "try to relax" and "dont study too much bio" is

1) Go over the Kaplan Blue book, multiple times. Know that thing cold before moving on. Do not skip this. Also read over Barrons Biology 2 or 3 times. Know that cold.
2)Chad's videos. Watch them, take notes... profit.
3) Whatever the latest version of DAT destroyer is, get it (even the math section). Do all the problems. Do them slowly at first, step by step. Do them again. Then... do every problem again. These problems are much harder than the real DAT, but the practice is invaluable.
4) Get the Crack DAT PAT. Go through the tests. Do them twice if you have to.
5) Take whatever practice tests you want, but definitely take the TopScore tests. I thought achiever was garbage, and a needless confidence killer, but if that's your thing, go ahead.
6) Take the test, and it's all good.

No short cuts. Get a 21+, everyone I interviewed with had a 21 it seemed.

Last year at this time...I was always saying "I'm gonna study now" but I always ended up on youtube. lol, its hard to get started, but once you get the ball rolling it gets alot easier! Take a practice test, see how bad you fail, and that should get the ball rolling!

Blog this post lol.
Thank you for the advice Mike.
I am studying for the DAT too. Kind of nervous a little bit 🙂.
Any advice on RC?

Wizi - For RC search and destroy. Its impossible to read the ridiculously long passages and then remember them all for the answers. You have just gotta skim through and memorize roughly which passage talks about what (get the general idea from these passages by skimming..no more than 5 minutes on skimming) and then go through the questions as fast as possible...thats what I did...ended up with a 21...which in my opinion is quite ok when it comes to landing interviews..

I personally don't like search and destroy. I didn't read any of the questions ahead of time--read the passage in its entirety first, wrote down a few key terms for each paragraph, and then answered the questions. I had about 5 minutes left at the end of the RC section too. I don't think search and destroy is ideal for tackling inference/tone questions either, but to each his own. 🙂
