Dear esteemed colleagues,

I am considering Osteopathic schools a little late in the process. After much consideration and introspection, I have decided to go forward with my applications this year, despite the lateness. I think Osteopathic schools are a good fit for me, given my background and beliefs on the healing process. I think I have a decent chance. I just finished my AACOMAS application, and since I don't know much about which schools would fit my background, I am looking for advice on that. I do know that I want to apply to UNECOM, because I spoke with a first year resident and she sold me on it. An additional consideration is that I do not have a letter from a DO (although I have shadowed DO residents), but I do have one from an MD that I've known for about 10 years.

Here are my stats:

Some schools I am considering:

COMP
UMDNJ-SOM
UNECOM
NYCOM
OUCOM
PCOM
WVCOM

Are any of these inappropriate, given my background, and are there additional schools I should add? I'm working against the deadlines here, so any prompt assistance would be appreciated!

Thanks! 😀

it really depends on where you want to go. What I did to pick was decide what areas of the country I would be interested in going (I wanted to go some where warm with cheap tuition and cost of living but still a very good school) Late in the game doens't matter just get your stuff in as quickly as possible people are getting acceptances now but they have to pick one school they so some of the acceptances will be droped leaving more open seats and chances for interviews. It depends on what you hold important I would apply to atleast 8-10 schools bcs your a little late in the game. Good luck if you have any qs pm me.

Thank you, czanetti, for your feedback. I am researching deadlines and locations now, and I plan on applying to 10 schools.
